My invention is called 'The pulsating electric current
generator' which would allow the generation of electricity by
the use of the direct current instead of the current practice of
generating electricity by the rectification of the alternating
electric current to get the direct electric current.
Under the
current practice 17 per cent of electrical energy is wasted by
using rectifiers to convert the alternating current into the
direct current.
This invention opens a new branch of electric technology with
the future nobody can anticipate yet. Power lines buried
underground, electricity generators running without maintenance
for very long times, motor vehicles without lead batteries, the
electric trains, trams and other electrical utilities getting
power without rectifications.
This would also have great potential for the
telecommunications industry and for new kind of transport such
as the very fast electric trains.
The other advantages of this invention are summarised as
follows:
- the amperage and voltages of the generated current can
be limitless. It is dependant on using a circuit strong
enough to withstand it.
- the generator does not have electric commutators and
brushes. Instead of commutators it uses slip rings, which,
in effect can be part of the machinery itself.
- this generator does not have to be made of metals as in
the current practice. Even electromagnets can be made of
composites mixed with magnetic materials. The use of
plastics and aluminium can make them light, cheap and simple
to manufacture.
- this type of generator will not require maintenance for
long periods since it does not have electrical commutators
and brushes.
- this generator has enormous potential in reducing carbon
emissions.
